Prerequisites and Application

Admission to the International Advanced Studies Course is normally conditional on completion of a university degree in geology (Diplom, M.Sc., Licenciado). This should have included examinations in applied geology. In exceptional cases, geoscientists with other fields of interest or those holding a B.Sc. in geology but with several years of professional experience in applied geological fields can be admitted. In addition regular German and non-German geology students from the Institute for Geology and Palaeontology of the university of Tuebingen are welcome to attend the course. The age limit is fixed at 32 years. The maximum number of participants allowed is 20 per year.

The course commences on October 1 (beginning of winter semester); in exceptional cases participants can also begin their studies on April 15 (beginning of summer semester). Application deadlines are February 1 (for the summer semester) and July 1 (for the winter semester).

Applications (there is no official form) together with curriculum vitae, copies of academic examinations, and - if available - certificates of employment should be directly sent to Eberhard-Karls-Universitaet Tuebingen, Studentenabteilung, Wilhelmstrasse 11, D-72074 Tuebingen.
